It's a double whammy edit for you this month! Aren't you lucky?!
After all that snow and the extended winter, we're hopefully going to get better weather now... or am I just being too optimistic? Even if I am, I have chosen pieces for the edit that evoke a 'spring-like' feeling; birds, flowers, greenery, new life.

Over and Over and Over Again
The Chesterfield Embroiderers Guild has been working with us at West Studios in preparation for their upcoming exhibition, 'Over and Over and Over Again'. In mid-February we asked Barbara, from the Chesterfield Branch of the Embroiderers Guild, a series of questions to get a deeper understanding of the group and their exhibition.
What is your exhibition called and what medium is it in?
"The exhibition 'Over and Over and Over Again', is a celebration in print and stitch of the history of the Derwent Valley Cotton Mills."
When asked about the groups background, Barbara said:
"The Embroiderers' Guild is over 100 years old, however the Chesterfield Branch has been in existence for 28 years and has exhibited throughout that period."
Where did you find inspiration for this exhibition?
"The inspiration for the exhibition came from the Derwent Valley Cotton Mills. However Masson Mill was the main inspiration for the exhibition."
What eventually made you chose West Studios as the gallery to exhibit your work?
"West Studios is located within Chesterfield and we are a Chesterfield based organisation. It's an excellent exhibition space with helpful and professional staff."
'Over and Over and Over Again' will be available to view from Saturday 14th April until Friday 11th May. The Opening Event for the exhibition will take place on Saturday 14th April, 10.45am to 12.00pm. Light refreshments will be provided and everyone is welcome to attend.
