Seller of the Month - Shadow Crafts and Tenant, Sarah Pasley

This month we have chosen to feature Shadow Crafts as our ‘Seller of the Month’! We also have a new feature where we introduce our tenants who are selling in our Gallery Shop. This month is Silversmith, Sarah Pasley! 

A small selection of our Shadow Crafts range.

Sarah of Shadow Crafts uses leather to create her wide range of beautifully handmade items. The colours just pop with a combination of brights, neutrals and naturals.

So many different colours.

Necklaces, earrings, unisex bracelets, notebooks, purses, watches, keyrings and bookmarks come in an amazingly wide variety of colours so there is something for everyone.

Sarah’s key rings aren’t just nice to look at… they are functional too! One is a coin purse/earphone holder – money for the car park on hand! No more tangled earphones – brilliant! Also, there is a smaller key ring which houses a plectrum for the musically gifted amongst you.

Keep a plectrum with you wherever you go.

The bracelets can be grouped together, also, the watches wrap around your wrist to really stack the colours and textures together… or wear them separately for a more minimal approach. The soft and tactile nature of leather makes them really comfortable to wear.

All Shadow Craft’s leather is upcycled from local upholsterers in Sheffield so each piece has it’s own natural blemishes, imperfections and personality; each is unique. A perfect example of the individuality is the raw edges, especially on some of the envelope purses.

Tenant Seller of the Month - Sarah Pasley

Sarah (a different one to above!) is our tenant silversmith. Her pieces are clean and classic in design and execution. My personal favourites are this necklace with individually crafted, mobile components and also the miniature tattoo gun – look at that detail!

We have a beautiful display of her pieces in our Gallery Shop ready for you to buy today. Sarah also gives small workshops to no more than two people at a time so it gives you an opportunity to work with and learn from Sarah herself. (Fab Christmas prezzie idea for someone…. Just sayin’!) September Edit

Right. I'm calling it. It's Autumn. Thank goodness! Last time I wrote an Edit I was quite literally melting... I digress.

Autumn! Stunning colours are on their way, cooler breezes, cups of tea with a good book. Cosy.

Let’s start at the back left of the arrangement; Jemma Banks has a new range of really cute prints in stock. This little fox is very proud of its big bushy tail, and why not! It’s beautiful!

Coming across we have a beautiful art print cushion by Inuro. Its soft, faux suede fabric and plump cushion give a really luxurious feel to cuddle up to when you’re reading your favourite book. And speaking of books…

… we have a new novel by Mark Veevers in. The cover illustrations were done by our tenant illustrator, Edie OP! ‘Crystal Dragons & Shadows – The Peculiar Adventures of Jem Scott’ is a story about a young boy who discovers dragon eggs in the stream in the garden of his Grandad’s house in North Wales. ‘This Fantastic, fast-paced escapade tells of drama, imagination, humour, courage and friendship, for young readers’.

Next, along to the left, is a fabric 'Flutterby' by Emma Louise Made These. Quirky and clashing prints will brighten your walls. Emma also accepts commissions to make these in your own fabric. Ask at reception for details.

Further along to the left, we have the first of Death by Tea’s items in this Edit. The mallard mug is so cute, it says ‘Ey up Duck’ on the back! Quack! Inside this mug is a Death by Tea pin – 90% Tea, 10% Human which is *totally* me in the mornings whilst I’m waiting for my brain to wake up… I’m not alone am I ?!

In front of the mug is a beautiful handcrafted toadstool by Fiona Gypsy Bunting. Using reclaimed and vintage fabrics, this little hanger looks organic and rustic. I love it.

On the wooden block next to the toadstool is a selection of rings by Crowd Capture. This selection, called ‘The Fairy Tale Collection’ is designed by Tara Shad and handmade in India*. The bold and individual pieces are a fun and individual way to update your outfits for the new season.

Last, but not least are the notebook and pin by Death by Tea again. ‘Lists 4 Life’ is pretty much my mantra (anyone else singing Iggy Pop now?!) and you can write them all in your ‘Secrets’ notebook!

You may have noticed that I haven’t spoken about the stag beetle bowl… Well, between the time that I arranged the Edit, photographed it and wrote this… it sold! It was a ceramic creation by Drawn and Fired. Sgraffitto designs on ceramic wares. Unique and intriguing.

Seller of the Month - Rollerdog Designs

Helen from Rollerdog Designs' designs are just so ace! Fun and colourful, they're so quirky and cheerful. That's why we have chosen them as our 'Seller of the Month'! Derbyshire designed and made - let's support local talent.

Three sizes of cushions that we stock.

Stacked sausage dogs, wibbly whippets, bright birds and hurried hares all feature in Helen's work. The designs are wonderful but the fabric of the cushions- wow! - it is so soft! The faux suede of the squishy cushions is so comfy.

We also have a selection of tote bags made from durable fabric with super strong handles. In fact, this design (below) is included in the 'Forever Hounds Trust' fundraiser that Rollerdog are participating in. 20% of sales from the 'Greyhounds and Whippet' range will go to the charity up until 16th September. You get a new bag and you're helping the doggies... best 'buying another bag' excuse, ever!
