Christmas Animation Workshop - Part of the Christmas Craft Workshop Event
Our final Christmas themed workshop will be ran by SparkyInk Studio. This workshops is suitable for any member of the family individually or you may chose to do the workshop together.

“If you would like to try stop-motion animation then come along this Christmas Season for a one off Christmas Craft Session suitable for all the family. Stop-motion animation is amazingly very relaxing and rewarding and teaches lots of patience and practical skills. Create clay snowmen and watch them melt as you create a stop-motion animation into a short animated film to show friends and family. A fab family or solo session where you will learn some basics of animating and can try using an I-pad where you will get an introduction to the free software available from Apple for Animating and editing or industry standard software Dragonframe and a DSLR Camera with editing in Industry standard Adobe Premier Pro. Prices start from £8.00 for a basic session”

Introducing Deborah Langner, one of the artists taking part…
In her everyday work Deborah uses a technique called sgraffito to draw onto the clay to make some amazing bowels, plates and tiles. Find more information about Deborah’s Christmas workshop in at the bottom of this blog.
Deborah says about her workshop:
“My workshop will give you the opportunity to paint some handmade festive ceramic decorations. There’s a variety of decorations to chose from on the day, that will have been fired to make them stronger.
Decorations will cost £5 each.”

Today, we would like to introduce to another one of our artists taking part - Annie French.
Annie is a creative practitioner whose interests include textiles, mixed media, embroidery, archives and research. Her current work has developed into 3D moveable structures, based on Laban’s movement theory.
Annie says about her workshop:
“You will be provided with ‘ribbons’ of materials in a wide variety of colours and textures, along with seasonal decorations, to assemble a unique festive wreath to suit your particular taste/house décor.
Supported on a sturdy, hand welded copper frame, wreaths will be suitable for internal and external display. You also have the option to illuminate your wreath for a small additional cost”.

West Studios Christmas Craft Workshops... confirming what's on!
As promised, we would like to introduce to you another one of our artists taking part in this years Christmas Craft Workshops - Dave Elsom aka Dave The Print of Sombrero Print Making…
Dave produces work involving linocut, drypoint, woodcut, relief printing and engraving techniques, themes include: running, mermaids, randomness and pictures of his cats, Mr Whiskers and Unicorn.
Dave says about his workshop:
“My workshop will show you how to design and make a linocut, which can then be printed onto cards and prints to be taken home.
I'll have some designs ready to carve out, and will be on hand to help anyone who wants to design their own template.
Using soft lino, we'll have lots of fun in a safe environment and thanks to the magic of quick-drying ink, you'll be able to take your finished cards and prints home with you.”
